After leaving Mont Saint Michel, we thought we could change the TGV bus back to Monparnasse....but I was wrong. The TGV isn't like the blue train in Japan and it takes fees for changing the ticket PLUS an additional fee depending on the time of the train. We had to pay more than 90 euro each so decided to look around Rennes to kill time. It was around 12 and the train was at 5. :O
モンサンミッシェルを後にした後に早めに出たのでモンパルナスへ戻ってパリ観光を早めにしようと思った。…がしかし。日本の新幹線と違いTGVは一度予約した席を変更する＋時間帯によって値段が違ったのです。よって12時頃に到着した私たちは5時の電車を変更するのに90ユーロ以上かかってしまうということでレンヌ観光に切り替え。
So a little info about this city. Rennes is the door to the Bretagne region in France. 1/4 of the population is students since there are many colleges.
少しレンヌについて。ココはブルターニュ地方の玄関口で4分の1が学生である大学都市らしい。
We first went to the Parliament of Bretagne which is still used today. This was built in 1562 and it survived through the war in 1720.
最初に行ったのはブルターニュ高等法院。1562年に建てられて1720年の戦争の大火を免れたこともあり街の中で重要建築物になっている。とっても綺麗でした。
あとはサン・ピエール大聖堂。1844年に完成したネオ・クラシック様式。中は見れなかったけど外観だけでもとっても迫力がありました。
After we went to the St. Pierre Cathedral which was built in 1844. Its a neoclassical architecture and we couldn't see the inside but the outside decorations were very neat and strong.
We walked to the Old historical town which was near from the station. There were lots of buildings which were made during the 15-16th century.
15−16世紀に建てられた建築が多く残る旧市街へも足を運びました。タイムスリップしたような建物が今も街の人に使われているのがすごいと思ったなー。
ヨーロッパはこういうのが多いから素敵。日本もこういう古い建物は多いけどアメリカはないからなー。歴史が浅い 笑
Europe is fascinating how there are historical buildings like this. Japan also has a lot but you don't see these in the US lol
We stopped by at this boulangerie where we bought a baguette. 近くのパン屋さんでバゲットをお買い上げ。フランスのバゲットはなにもつけなくても美味しい。日本のおにぎり感覚だねーって話してた。ちがう？
この辺りじゃ有名なお店なのか人が次から次へと入っていってました。It might of been a popular bakery around this corner because there were people coming in and out.
We found Rennes to be a really nice city to walk around for a few hours. レンヌはノープランで観光しましたが、小さいとっても素敵な街でした。
