We went to Ghent this weekend. Its 2 hours away from Amsterdam and its a small city in Belgium. We decided to eat lunch at one of the restaurants that looked nice.
ゲントに週末行ってきました。車で2時間ぐらいのベルギーの小さな街です。そのときになんとなく雰囲気がよかったので入ったお店。
It was a little past lunch time but there were lots of people.
お昼は少し過ぎていたにもかかわらず結構な人。
The lighting is a bit dark and with red neon lights which makes it nice.
店内は赤いランプが灯してあったりして雰囲気がとってもいい。
There was a red wine already on each table. When we sae the menu, it said that wine was self service and they would measure how much you drank at payment.
すでに机の上にはワインが置いてあってメニューを見たらセルフサービスでワインが飲めるそう。最後のお会計のときに店員さんが飲んだ量を見て金額が決まるそう。飲み過ぎ注意。
My husband ordered the spare rib which was all you can eat. BUT it was huge as always. The potato had a butter garlic sauce on top and this was really lekker!
スペアリブが無制限食べ放題だったので彼はそれをオーダ。そしたらこんなに大きいのが！ポテトにはバターとたっぷりのニンニクが入ったソースがかかっていて美味しかったです。
I chose the traditional dish here in Ghent, the Watterzooi. Its a cream stew with chicken. This one was HUGE too. It had potatoes, carrots, leek and celery. The texture of the leek was really good.
私はここの名物だというワーテルゾーイをチョイス。チキンが入ったクリームシチューです。中にはジャガイモ、ニンジン、リーキ、セロリが入っていましたが、個人的にはリーキの食感が好きでした。クリームシチューに比べるとそこまで重くないので美味しかった！
Last the picture of the water. It was in Belgium so SPA water came out but this glass bottle is really cute. My friend from Japan wanted to take this home since it was so cute but the restaurant told us that they get these in bundles so it wasn't possible.
最後にお水を。ベルギーだったのでSPAのお水でした。前に友達がこのガラスボトルのデザインが可愛いので持って帰れないかと行ったのでお店の人に聞いたらこれは業務用で特注しているのでNGでした。Albert Heijnでも売っていないのでリサイクルして使っているんでしょうね。
